Kathleen Webb

Founder, Director of Compliance

Co-founded HomeWork Solutions in 1993 to provide payroll and tax services to families employing household workers. Kathy has extensive experience preparing ‘nanny tax’ payroll taxes. She is the author of numerous articles on this topic and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, and the Congressional Quarterly. She also consulted with Senate staffers in the drafting of the 1994 Nanny Tax Law.

Webb is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston College. She is the former President of the International Nanny Association, the leading professional association in the in-home childcare industry.

Jay (John) Schulze

As the proud father of two busy young kids, Jay seeks to leverage his experience in personal finance and corporate operations roles to simplify household payroll and tax filing for families.  Jay started his career as a financial planner and investment consultant before spending four years at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where he served as a Special Adviser in the Cyber Division and in the Director’s Office.  In that time Jay led financial and administrative matters for the division, and later worked to establish an office tasked with building the Bureau’s partnerships with the private sector.

Jay has a BA in Economics from Yale University and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Claudia Chambi HomeWork Solutions

Claudia Chambi

Director of Operations

Claudia leads our enrollment, payroll, and client care teams while ensuring we are delivering exceptional service and  are operationally sound.  Her background includes audit and tax work for a Big 4 accounting firm as well as 5 years of management experience in customer banking.

Claudia graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Communication and from George Washington University with a Masters in Accounting.

Andrew brings a background in management consulting to HomeWork Solutions seeking to help improve operational efficiencies in the household payroll and tax filing processes. He has a deep passion for doing things the right way and makes client satisfaction his number one priority. He brings a deep knowledge in developing and implementing new systems, business process re-engineering, policy development, and data management.

Andrew has a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia and an MBA from George Mason University.

Carolyn Browne joined HomeWork Solutions in March 2017, bringing 20 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting.  As the Payroll Manager, Carolyn is devoted to our customers, educating them thru every step of household payroll, allowing our clients to make the best decisions on their household employee needs.

Carolyn spent the previous 10 years with Sage Payment Solutions, as the Manager of Financial Operations, dissecting and analyzing the complicated payment processing industry.

Carolyn is a firm believer of giving back to our community.  She enjoys volunteering for Hire Hero’s, which works with military men and woman as they transition to a civil job. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her two Siberian huskies, and enjoying the Washington DC social life.

Finance Manager

As a long-term employee of HomeWork Solutions, Angel has enjoyed a variety of positions within the company.  During brief assignments outside of HomeWork Solutions (HWS), Angel delved into Project Management, General Ledger Accounting and Auditing while employed at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) and what was the Financial Consulting arm of Price Waterhouse at that time. She brings her financial and project management skills to HWS in helping to streamline operations and simplify household payroll and tax filings for our valued clients.  She is a proud mother of two children who have been a part of the HomeWork Solutions community since birth.

Angel holds a BS in Accounting from George Mason University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Virginia.

Marketing Manager

Ned is in charge of all things marketing at HomeWork Solutions. He manages the website, email campaigns, social media, conference sponsorships, and other marketing projects. He engages with prospective clients and partners to help them better understand “nanny tax” compliance and how we can help. He also works with agency partners to set up landing pages and provide co-branded educational materials.

Ned brings a decade of traditional and digital marketing experience to HomeWork Solutions and works to insure a positive and productive relationship with our industry.

Ned holds a Bachelors of Art, Communication Studies and Photography from Longwood University.

Sales and Client Care Manager

Joe assists families understand their obligations as household employers and ensures our clients get their relationship with their nanny, caregiver or other household employee off to the right start. From nanny shares to companionship exemptions, Joe is there to walk our clients through every situation and concern with hiring a household employee. Joe liaisons with our referral partners to ensure their clients get the concierge level of service they are accustomed to providing to their own clients. He consults with our enrollment and payroll team to ensure our clients get setup with state and federal tax ID numbers and transition into service expeditiously and without fail.

As a long term employee of HWS (1996), Phyllis has extensive knowledge of and experience in household payroll and tax filings for families, attributes she puts to work in managing and improving HWS processes.  She started her career as an IT programmer working for Computer Data Systems, Inc.  Later she worked as an IT program manager for Bloomberg BNA and MCI.

Phyllis has a BS in Business Administration from Frostburg State University.

A proud mother of 3 teenage/early 20 year old sons, Mary joined our team in 2011 and earned her Fundamental Payroll Certification. She brings over two decades of successful client services experience, along with strong team building and problem solving skills. Mary’s focus is client support. She loves to help new clients and match the needs of the family with the right service that we provide. “Being able to lighten the load for a family is very meaningful to me” Mary said, “Our clients trust me with emotional transactions that involve both taxing authorities and doing the right thing for people they love. I want to make sure I do the right thing for them.”

Jenna Wardrip

Jenna joined our team in 2014, originally from Arizona, and brings more than 9 years of experience working in client support, marketing, leadership, and problem resolution. Her true passion is helping others with a core focus in ensuring the highest quality client experience. She ensures trust and maintains strong long-term client relationships, bringing comfort and clarity to our clients. She brings a strong set of interpersonal and collaborative skills with her knowledge and ability to recognize and address the challenges of household payroll and taxes. Jenna provides information and technology support, quarterly preparation of payroll/tax documents and maintains consistent communications with our clients to achieve a common goal. In her free time, you can usually find her on a kayak or anything outdoors. “Do what you love and the necessary resources will follow.”  – Peter McWilliams

Luz Rodriguez

Luz Rodriguez is a member of our payroll team with a background in customer service and real estate finance. She takes great pleasure in helping employers establish new accounts and assisting them with payroll adjustments, as well as providing assistance to their employees when they have payroll questions. Luz is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Studies at George Mason University. In her free time she enjoys participating in Crossfit events and going on trail hikes with her husband and three rescue dogs.

Joe joined the HWS Payroll team in February of 2018 and brings years of payroll experience. He has a background in finance, customer service, and is a graduate of Radford University. Joe plays a key role in the payroll setup of our clients based on their preferences, and he processes their payroll on a weekly basis.

Uma comes from a Physics background. She worked as a scientist in Germany, and as an Adjunct Faculty at Schoolcraft College in Michigan.

She switched careers and studied Accounting at Oakland Community College, in Michigan, and was awarded the “Best Accounting Student”.

Uma has 15+ years of experience as a tax professional; specializing in taxation of US expats, small businesses, multi state jurisdictions, foreign rentals, and non resident aliens. She also has 7+ years of experience in payroll and payroll accounting.

Denise Carter

Senior Accounting Specialist

A proud mother of two outstanding women in their early 30’s and a grandmother of 3 (1 boy and 2 girls ages ranging from 4 to 15 year old), Denise joined Homework Solutions in Feb of 2007. She brought with her 17 years of customer service and bookkeeping experience. Denise has worn many hats here in her tenure. She’s always willing to pitch in and help wherever needed. Denise’s focus is accounting and finance support.

Thomas Loftus

Tax Systems Specialist

Thomas came to HomeWork Solutions from the restaurant and hospitality industry. He spent time as a Tasting Room Manager at a winery and as a cook in a fine dining restaurant. Throughout his time here he has become an expert in state and local taxes, putting his attention to detail and customer service skills to work. He has also become an expert on employer account creation and taxing systems across the country.

Thomas has a B.S. in Sociology and Business Management from Shenandoah University
