The first quarter sees deadlines for both the fourth quarter of 2018 and year end. We\u2019ve pulled together a general list for corporate and household employers. This is not exhaustive so please consult a personal or business tax consultant if you have specific questions about 2018 tax deadlines.<br \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>15 de enero<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remit 1040 estimated tax payments for fourth quarter 2018<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>31 de enero<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>File 2018 Forms W-2, \u201cWage and Tax Statement,\u201d with the Social Security Administration and provide copies to your employees. This is a requirement for all employers.<\/li>\n<li>Provide copies of 2018 Forms 1099-MISC, \u201cMiscellaneous Income,\u201d to recipients of income from your business where required. Household employers should not be doing this; your employees are required to get a W2.<\/li>\n<li>File 2018 Forms 1099-MISC reporting non-employee compensation payments in Box 7 with the IRS. Household employers should not be doing this; your employees are required to get a W2.<\/li>\n<li>File Form 940, \u201cEmployer\u2019s Annual Federal Unemployment (FUTA) Tax Return,\u201d for 2018. Household employers file this through their 1040 return on Schedule H or through estimated payments.<\/li>\n<li>File Form 941, \u201cEmployer\u2019s Quarterly Federal Tax Return,\u201d to report Medicare, Social Security and income taxes withheld in the fourth quarter of 2018. Household employers file a Form 1040 Schedule H for these purposes.<\/li>\n<li>File Form 945, \u201cAnnual Return of Withheld Federal Income Tax,\u201d for 2018 to report income tax withheld on all non-payroll items, including backup withholding and withholding on accounts such as pensions, annuities and IRAs. Household employers should not file a Form 945.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>February 28<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>File 2018 Forms 1099-MISC with the IRS if 1) they\u2019re not required to be filed earlier and 2) you\u2019re filing paper copies. (Otherwise, the filing deadline is April 1.) Household employers should not be doing this; your employees are required to get a W2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>March 15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> If a calendar-year partnership or S Corporation, file or extend your 2018 tax return deadline and pay any tax due.
