While no immediate action is needed, this is something you\u2019ll want on your radar\u2014especially as the deadline approaches.<\/p>\n<p> <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what you need to know, in plain language.<\/p>\n<h2>What Is CalSavers?<\/h2>\n<p>CalSavers is a <strong>state-run retirement savings program<\/strong> that helps workers in California save for the future\u2014specifically those whose employers don\u2019t offer a qualified retirement plan, like a 401(k), SIMPLE IRA, or SEP IRA.<\/p>\n<p>If you employ even <strong>one household worker<\/strong> in California (such as a nanny or senior caregiver) and <strong>don\u2019t already offer a retirement plan<\/strong>, you\u2019ll be required to register with CalSavers or claim an exemption by <strong>31 de diciembre de 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>How Does It Work?<\/h3>\n<p>Once you\u2019re registered, CalSavers will automatically enroll your employees into a <strong>Roth IRA<\/strong> at a <strong>5% contribution rate<\/strong>, deducted from their pay.
